Ontario Land Transfer Tax Calculator (Ottawa Real Estate Board)

As of March 2009, the provincial land transfer tax rates in Ontario are:

0.5 % - for amounts up to and including $55,000
1.0 % - for amounts exceeding $55,000 up to and including $250,000
1.5 % - for amounts exceeding $250,000

If the land falls under the definition of single-family or duplex residences, an additional tax of 0.5% applies to consideration over $400,000.
